Owl Love

Okay so my buddy just uploaded this picture to Tumblr, and it is soooo cute. Look at how in love they look. Either that or one is eating the other one's eyeball like a bit of melon.

Yeah, it's been a long day, but I actually came up with a pattern for an owl stuffed animal and a baby beanie. If they come out as good as I hope they will I will post the patterns with some pictures.

Fingers crossed. Also I have been on a forum for soon to be mommies, it's been nice to talk to people in the same point as me. Comforting.

Late night

It's 1:45 a.m. and I cannot sleep for the life of me. I have watched the same episodes of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, Ugly Americans, and South Park like 3 times now. I have been very excited to put together my hospital bag and my diaper bag, and honestly haven't done much else. I've been knitting a little bit, working on a big flower headband for baby. Really though all I want to do is pack baby clothes and shit so I can play with all the awesome things I have for her. I wish she'd hurry up.

Baby daddy is sleeping behind me, he looks ridiculous with the pooch dreaming next to him. I'd like to go to sleep but I'm like, sort of wide awake. The kind of wide awake where you are actually competely exhausted. The fun kind.

My next issue is how much I miss my kitty. She is still at our apartment until we have to move her out, when she will be going to live with a friend until we have our own place again. Boo. :(

That picture just reminded me is all. I'm obsessed with her and I haven't even seen her in weeks. So ready to have a place where I can snuggle her again.

Alright I'm going to go try and lay down, hopefully get some sleep. YEAH RIGHT.

Booties

I havent been on in a couple of days. Saturday my mom threw me a surprise baby shower. It was really nice, lots of family, close friends, and a ton of adorable stuff! I love my mom, she is so awesome.

Anyway, so I made an adaptation of a pattern for booties I found online and I made a few sets of my own.

Here is the pattern:

I used size 6 needles, and it worked out perfectly, but I guess it depends on how you want them to look. I used generic pink and white "baby yarn" but you can use whatever you want, obviously.

Cast on 33 stitches.

Knit 12 rows, basic knit.

Begin Decrease for instep:

Row 1- K13, K2together, K3, K2together, K13 (31 stitches)

Row 2- K12, K2together, K3, K2together, K12 (29 st.)

Row 3- K 11, k2together, k3, k2tog, k11 (27st.)

Row 4- K10, k2tog, k3, k2tog, k10 (25st.)

Row 5- K9, k2tog, k3, k2tog, k9 (23st.)

Row 6- K8, k2tog, k3, k2tog, k 8 (21st.)

Now you should have 21 stitches if you did it right.

Now to make the little lip on the top of the booties:

Row 1- Knit across

Row 2- Purl across

Repeat 1-2 twice more.

Bind off all stitches.

Sew inside out and then flip right side out. They should look like little feeties now.

You can add pom pom's or bows, anything you want as long as it is securely fastened so it isn't a choking hazzard.

So I got a changing table today in the mail from Chris' mother. It's the totally ridiculous one I put on the registry when she said my choice was boring, which looking back, it was pretty boring and this one is really nice, so she was right. Fuck.

So the piggy is almost done, and the kitten is finished. Here is a picture of the finished kitten.

Baby cold

So I'm coming down with a really lame cold, which I am pretty unimpressed with, hence why I haven't been posting, I feel like crap. I'm losing my voice, so that is shitty. Then on top of that my throat hurts, my stomach is sore, and I have a lovely case of the sniffles. So all around I feel fantastic.

I'm at work right now, as per usual, and yet again we have had no customers. Of course I should totally be used to that by now. I actually panic when someone does come in now, like I don't believe it or something. I'm pretty sure my job description has become "Sit out front by the register and knit baby stuff all night." So that is cool at least!

The piggy will have front feet soon which is going to be cool. Then I can finally start working on my booties! Pink booties for baby! God damn I love baby yarn.

My newest project

So I've started my own little project. My mum is helping with some idea's and whatnot while I teach her to knit. For now though it's mostly my BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS going into this thing.

I call em BooBooBabies. They are little knitted facecloth sized things shaped like different animals, and they have a pouch on the front. The pouch is for an icecube. You can also wet them and put them in the freezer for more lingering pain like teething and such.

I'll post some photo's later! If you would like any, just let me know, I can customize them to look like a family pet, or most other animal really. So far I have puppies, kittens, bunnies, duckies, and piggies. So if you have an idea or would like one, email me at aquacadet320@gmail.com .

Twerking

Got called into work early. Working 6 extra hours today, and 6 more Thursday. Plus god only knows when she will want me in tomorrow, seems like my "schedule" was just a front. It's hard to plan out my day when I get texts randomly telling me to come into work at that moment.

I figured adding a ticker might be kind of cool, just a general idea of how big the little booger is. She is getting big now which is cool, but it's also pretty damn uncomfortable, let me tell you! Trying to keep my mind focused on the good, but it's pretty hard when you can't breathe, you are getting fat, and your sweater puppets are leaking. Nursing pads have become my clothes best friends at this point, which I'm not too pumped about but I guess I'll learn to get over it. It could be worse I suppose.

It's absolutely freezing in here though, which I'm ot too impressed with because I didn't bring a damn sweatshirt, it's been so warm I guess I didn'teven consider it, of course now I'm regretting that. Knitting the kitten buddy still, it's coming along nicely, but I'm still not sure if it'll be cute or frightening. We'll see!

So Here is a test of some music I wanted to put up. I'll try to keep it going, but I'm kind of lazy. hahah

Oh Hello.

This is my first post. In case you couldn't figure that out. I'm at work right now, but since nothing ever happens here and I finished my actual "work" in less than ten minutes, I can pretty much do whatever I want now. I have my knitting here and the Biography I got for my birthday about David Bowie. So I'll be able to keep myself busy which is always good.

So I finally finished the blanket I have been knitting for the past few weeks. I have it in the bassinet already, let the nesting begin. Isn't it precious? That bassinet has been in my family for 70 years, and I'm so pumped I get to use it for my little booger when she finally pops out.

I have been working on a "Blanket Buddy" for little lady. So far I don't have too much done but when I get further along I will post some pictures. Other than that, not a whole lot has been happening.

Alright well I'm going to go and eat me some Taco goodness. Number 7 from Taco Bell is for sure the way to go. So I'll probably write a bit more later, but ta-a for now!
